Spot the number that is secretly cornered.
A hidden single hides in plain sight. The cell itself might look like it has three or four possible candidates, but when you check the row, column, or box as a whole, one of those candidates only fits in that single cell.
This is different from a naked single, where the cell itself is down to one option. With a hidden single, the cell looks open, but the surrounding group is not.
